Serendipity Equine Therapy
Why does a training facility offer therapy?
A major aspect of our business is the assessment of behavioural problems. Some years back it became aparent that the majority of these 'problems' originated from some form of discomfort - physical pain or psychological stress. For this reason we have found it increasingly important to offer a range of therapeutic techniques to complement and reinforce training. These days we have expanded this aspect of our business to offer a rehabilitation service for horses recovering from injury.
Within Serendipity we routinely apply Cranio-sacral techniques and Bowen Therapy, in conjunction with Equine Massage. These techniques are all powerful therapeutic tools in their own right, focusing on the gentle manipulation of soft tissue. However, used in combination, they also provide an exceptional diagnostic tool, allowing us to carefully design training schedules around the horse's physical limitations and need for recovery.
We are also fortunate enough to be located in Tasman Bay, with access to a range of animal healthcare professionals. In more severe or complex cases, our clients may therefore be asked to consider involving an external practioner to complement the array of techniques applied within Serendipity. In particular we will often recommend the use of Natural Balance trimming or shoeing for remedial purposes and to maintain optimum on-going performance.
